BREAKING: CENTER FOR MEDICAL PROGRESS RELEASES NEW VIDEO, PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTIONS MAY BE USED TO HARVEST INTACT BODIES, ORGANS NMAFL ASKS: IS THIS WHY THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXCIO IS PROTECTING LATE-TERM ABORTIONIST BOYD?The Center for Medical Progress released a shocking new video yesterday, revealing the dark side of baby body parts harvesting and trade practices. Abortionists at Planned Parenthood openly discuss in detail how to deliver a "breech" baby in order to harvest "intact organs" from the baby's body. Planned Parenthood doctors appear to employ partial-birth abortion to harvest intact organs from the baby's body aside from his or her head which is "evacuated." "If you start with breech, as the case goes on, the last step you can evacuate an intact cavalarium [head] at the end." This abortion method, as described by Planned Parenthood's Dr. Nucatola, sounds highly similar to a partial-birth abortion which involves partial delivery of the baby breech up to his or her head, and then an evacuation of the head from the mother's uterus in order to collapse the baby's skull. Partial- birth abortion has been federally outlawed, due to the sheer brutality and barbarity it subjects helpless victims to. The video also discusses WHY abortionists may use partial-birth abortions in order to harvest intact organs. Since this procedure was outlawed, a new method of killing unborn children later in pregnancy was developed using digoxin, or "feticide" that poisons the baby's body and causes a fetal heart attack. These poisoned bodies are considered unusable for research purposes. Fetal tissue procurement companies specifically ask for organs and body parts that are digoxin free for this reason. How is UNM professor Boyd providing non-poisoned aborted babies for UNM studies after 20 weeks? "abortions for gestations greater than 20 weeks involve feticide via intrafetal injection of Digoxin," - Curtis Boyd letter to UNM. "It is truly alarming that late-term abortion center owner and UNM Assistant Professor Curtis Boyd, who has "performed thousands of illegal abortions" in the past, is thanked for harvesting organs from helpless aborted infants for UNM studies," said Elisa Martinez, NMAFL executive director. "The reason this is of grave concern is that Boyd could also potentially be performing illegal partial-birth abortions in order to harvest fresh, intact organs for UNM's studies-- how is he providing fresh organs from babies after 20 weeks that are not poisoned by digoxin?" As reported by NMAFL, UNM's studies use various body parts of babies after 20 weeks aborted and harvested by Boyd including eyeballs, brain tissue, lung, liver, aorta (heart vessels) and more. 1. Human Eye Study: Eyeballs extracted from "18-21, 22-24 weeks" 2. Baby Heart Vessel study: 57 baby heart vessels from "11-22 weeks" 3. Liver and Lung study: "fetal liver and kidney samples were obtained 15 minutes after termination from six fetuses ranging 12 - 22 weeks." ARE YOU TIRED OF YOUR NM TAX DOLLARS FUNDING THESE PRACTICES? Congressional Investigative Panel's First Hearing on Bioethics & Fetal Tissue as UNMHSC Harvested Heart Vessels from 57 Babies Aborted at Late-Term Clinic Owned By UNM Professor Curtis Boyd Wednesday, Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn announced the first hearing of the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives will be held on Wednesday, March 2. Members of the panel will hear testimony from expert witnesses on the issue of bioethics and fetal tissue. This comes as citizens across the state along with New Mexico Alliance for Life have serious concerns regarding the ethics of harvesting organs, body parts and tissue from aborted infants used at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNMHSC) for research, especially as the university continues to withhold public documents surrounding this issue. "UNMHSC's research studies involving organs, body parts and tissue from aborted babies up to 24 weeks gestation gives rise to many ethical concerns, especially considering UNM's lack of documents evidencing their protocols and procedures," said Elisa Martinez, NMAFL executive director. "The UNM study using heart vessels from 57 babies harvested within 30 minutes of the abortion procedure raises serious ethical concerns and highlights the need for the Congressional panel's investigation, as UNM professor Curtis Boyd performs the abortions in his private clinic and is then thanked in UNMHSC studies as tissue collector, when does one role end and the other begin?" Arthur Caplan, director of the New York University Langone Medical Center's Division of Medical Ethics, who was quoted in Live Science, referred to fetal tissue research as "the ticking time bomb of medical ethics," and argues that fetal tissue donation at abortion clinics presents a conflict of interest for clinicians because it "shifts the focus away from women and their needs." The study obtained by NMAFL (view here) explicitly references different aspects of the abortion procedure, which questions if there was any separation between the harvesting of organs and the abortion procedure. The incentive for abortionists to harvest organs for research, which is often funded by private and taxpayer grants, presents an alarming bioethical concern. 1) Study uses "human fetal ductus..and aorta," yet deemed "non human" by UNM 2) 57 aborted babies up to 22 weeks (5 months) from "healthy women" 3) Abortion procedure referenced in the actual study 4) Results of study: theoretical UNM HEART VESSEL STUDY RESULTS: THEORETICAL The scientific merit of the UNM study is also suspect. Dr. David Prentice, a stem cell research expert states after reviewing, "The results are strictly theoretical and make no headway toward actual knowledge of whether the genes studied may work in humans toward closure of the ductus arteriosus at birth. Not of much practical value." Martinez asks, "If these studies have little scientific merit, why go to great lengths to harvest body parts from aborted babies--are the millions of taxpayer dollars in research grants an incentive to harvest body parts for research at UNM, which may also compromise women's health in the process?" The Select Panel's Majority Memorandum, a witness list, and witness testimony will be available here as they are posted. A live webcast will also be available at the same link on the day of the hearing. ARE YOU DISGUSTED BY THE TOTAL DISREGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE IN UNM'S NEEDLESS STUDIES?

New Mexico Alliance for Life Attorney Files Lawsuit Against UNM Health Sciences Center, Withholding Documents on Study Involving Extracted Eyes of Aborted Babies Up to 24 Weeks Gestation Harvested from Southwestern Women's Options The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is not being transparent about its aborted fetal research program and is either breaking state open records law by withholding documents they are required to maintain by federal regulation- or potentially breaking federal law by not maintaining the documents. NMAFL's attorney filed a lawsuit with District Court in order to obtain documents UNM is required to maintain pursuant to federal regulation originally requested in January, as covered in the Albuquerque Journal today. NMAFL previously confirmed that UNMHSC is harvesting baby body parts... including eyes, brains, livers, hearts, kidneys... from aborted babies at Southwestern Women's Options, one of the only abortion clinics in that nation that performs abortion until the day of birth for ANY reason. UNMHSC has ALSO not been cooperative with the Congressional Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives led by Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, who had to subpoena UNM HSC and Curtis Boyd's Southwestern Women's Options in order to obtain documents originally requested regarding the practices of UNMHSC's human research programs, arrangements with Curtis Boyd who also serves as UNM "Assistant Clinical Professor" and their practices of harvesting fetal tissues of late-term babies from his clinic. |
"UNMHSC's shroud of secrecy around its aborted fetal research program is why New Mexico Alliance for Life welcomes the congressional investigation. NMAFL and the public are entitled to examine documents about this program pursuant to state open records laws, and UNMHSC is required to maintain documents regarding its aborted fetal program pursuant to federal law, documents UNMHSC has withheld for public inspection to date from our open records request. UNMHSC is either violating federal law, by not maintaining documents required or breaking state law by withholding specific documents requested from the 2015 study using extracted eyeballs from babies aborted up to 24 weeks gestation from late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd." |
Is UNMHSC Chancellor Paul Roth Allowing the Violation of Federal Law?
Dr. Paul Roth, chancellor of the UNMHSC and dean of UNM School of Medicine, serves as the institutional official for the Health Sciences Center's human research protections program and is responsible for the institution's compliance with applicable (federal) laws, rules and regulations as they relate to research involving human subjects. However, NMAFL finds UNMHSC, under Dr. Roth, may be violating federal law requiring maintenance of documents regarding NIH studies as well as evading inspection of public records requests in compliance with state law.
"Ultimately, Dr. Roth is entrusted to ensure UNMHSC is following the law when it comes to research involving human subjects. NMAFL along with New Mexico taxpayers need the confidence that is happening at UNM and are afforded their rights to view public documents - especially when it comes to studies involving body parts, tissues and organs that carry blood-borne pathogens and can expose the public to infectious diseases," Elisa Martinez added.

Senate Public Affairs to Hear SB 242 Late-Term Abortion Ban and SB 243 Partial Birth Abortion Ban
Tuesday, February 9th at 1:30 PM Room 321
This bill hinges on ONE vote in the committee to pass.
There are 5 Democrats and 4 Republicans.
We need just one Democrat to listen to their constituents and join Republicans to pass.

TUESDAY: The Late- Term Abortion Ban SB 242 and the Partial Birth Abortion Ban SB 243 will be heard before the Senate Public Affairs Committee at 1:30 PM, room 321, NM Legislature. Last year the Late-Term Abortion Ban passed the state House but died in the Senate Public Affairs Committee. Contact members of the committee today and tell them to vote with New Mexicans and support both SB 242 and SB 243.
This common-sense legislation is supported by the vast majority of women, men and New Mexicans but will NM Senate Democrats led by Committee Chair and professed 'Catholic' Sen. Jerry Ortiz Pino and others vote to kill the bill, therefore relegating thousands of innocent, helpless and viable babies to die at the hands of profiteering late-term abortionists in NM?

Thousands of constituents in Democrat Sen. Daniel Ivey- Soto's district (Sen. district 15) and also Sen. Bill O'Neill ( Sen. district 13) support NMAFL and our legislative agenda--it is important your Senator hears from you today and in person tomorrow.
Tell them to vote FOR both SB 242 and SB 243 or you will work to vote them out this November. It's that simple.

New Mexico: Is It Any Surprise the Late-Term Abortion Ban Hearing Last Year Was a Sham Hearing? Read more here. Please plan on attending the Senate Public Affairs Committee hearing to show your support for these life or death bills. Your voice is needed now more than ever.
As reported by NMAFL, (read more here) all five Senate Democrats on the Public Affairs Committee took campaign cash from POWER PAC: the profiteering late-term abortion industry's political action committee. Believe it or not, the out-of-state late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd, Eve Espey and others have actually formed their own PAC to influence our state leaders to maintain such an extreme position of abortion on demand for ANY reason up to the day of birth. Why else would these leaders vote against the will of their constituents? In fact, despite what the paid pro-abortion lobby claims, the MAJORITY of Albuquerque residents SUPPORT A LATE-TERM BAN, by 54% to 39 %, ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE STATE. It changed only after another out-of state abortion group, Colorado based Planned Parenthood, dumped over $1 MILLION into the Albuquerque election.
The people of New Mexico will be watching how Senate Democrats and the Public Affairs Committee votes on this life and death matter: either vote with the people of NM or will they vote with the out-of-state pro-abortion extremists and their well funded lobby? The choice is simple, life or death. New Mexicans will not forget come election time in November.

Watch Saturday: First Vote on
Infant Born Alive in House Health Committee
Tune in Saturday 8:30 a.m. to watch as the House Health Committee debates this basic care bill.
See how they vote and hold them accountable.
If these Legislators believe babies should be left to die or killed, they do not deserve to hold elected office in our state.
Thursday, the Health House Committee took public testimony on HB 275 to Require Medical Care for All Infants. Sat., Feb. 6 at 8:30, they will vote on HB 275 (no public testimony, just debate among themselves). Watch online here.
SHOCKING FACT: Due to the lack of any state law that would require medical care be given to infants born alive after a failed abortion--these innocent, helpless newborn survivors can and most likely are being left to die in abortion clinics and hospitals across the state.
The federal Infant Born Alive Protection Act does not require these victims be given medical care or nourishment, which is why the NM Legislature needs to pass HB 275 this year-- to prevent this heinous, almost unbelievable disregard for human life from taking place.
Not only can these newborn babies be left to die --they could be intentionally killed, like
convicted late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell who snipped the spinal cords of babies who came out alive during abortions-- some would let out whimpers others screams. The late-term abortion method he used called "induction" abortion can result in a live birth, since the birthing process is unnatural and uncontrolled and can take anywhere from 2-7 days for women to deliver. Protocols for this outlined by UNM OB-GYN Dept Chair Eve Espey who also serves as Director for UNM's late-term abortion clinic clearly indicate this occurrence of infants born alive, but again, NMAFL and taxpayers of New Mexico ask, what care is provided to these babies? Are they left to die in a utility room without comfort or nourishment? Are they just set aside or intentionally killed? This is simply unacceptable, and NMAFL along with New Mexicans across the state demand basic human rights be upheld by passing HB 275 "Require Medical Care for All Infants."

UNM's protocol by Eve Espey: outlines how to fill out a birth certificate, makes no mention of care for the born alive victim. See the full document here.
As in the case of Kermit Gosnell and others, a crying, frightened newborn baby inside an abortion clinic is bad for business, he opted to snuff out their lives by various cruel and barbaric means, including snipping their spinal cords. What is happening inside Southwestern Women's Options late-term clinic or University of New Mexico's late-term clinic? Are these babies leaving the clinics alive? Are they set aside somewhere inside the abortion clinic? The majority of late-term abortions are elective and in New Mexico the rate is 5 times the national average according to the CDC.
Sadly, pro-life New Mexicans did not show up in great numbers for the first committee hearing of this historic, humanitarian legislation. This issue has nothing to do with so called "abortion rights" however the rabid, pro-abortion crowd and their paid activists did show up, and displayed all levels of histrionics in opposition: "this bill will create a police state," "this bill is insidious" or making misleading statements like, "this bill will interfere with the relationship between a woman and her doctor."
Those, including multiple physicians, in favor of the bill made fact-filled statements as to why children who survive abortion are innocent victims and should be given basic medical care and nourishment. How can anyone in their right mind be so cruel as to deny a newborn baby medical care and nourishment? This reveals the extreme, unsympathetic and unflinching disregard the pro-abortion industry and their activists have for these newborn victims. Babies who didn't ask to be killed, who don't have a voice-- except for those who will stand up and fight for them, who will be their voice?

WILL YOU BE A VOICE FOR THESE HELPLESS VICTIMS?
NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT
Will you take the time to do something about this...Or will you do nothing? If you can't be a voice for these victims, who will?
PLEASE take the time to get involved NOW, this is a critical time for the lives at stake:
1) Are you able to contact your legislators, friends, church, pastors and ask them to help us stand up for human rights and fight the culture of death at the NM Legislature?
2) Will you consider attending committee hearings, clear your schedule and go speak to your elected representatives during the legislative session? That's all it takes--is more citizens like YOU to take action, and hold them accountable. There are less than two weeks left to get this bill through the House and Senate, follow NMAFL updates for information.
3) Contact members of the Health House Committee, your state Rep.and state Senator today and tell them to vote YES on HB 275 or you will work to vote them out in November. Its that simple.
4) SHARE THIS SHOCKING INFORMATION WITH EVERYONE. THIS IS NOT ABOUT ABORTION, THIS IS A HUMAN RIGHTS OUTRAGE. SINCE THE MEDIA IS SILENT YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED NOW TO SPEAK UP FOR THE VICTIMS.

HB 275 A Result of New Mexico Alliance for Life Investigation Into UNM Health Sciences Center Policy for Babies Born Alive After Abortion Procedure
HB 275 will have first committee hearing on
Thursday, February 4 in House Health Committee at 8:30 a.m. in Room 309, NM State Legislature
New Mexico Alliance for Life has worked with state leaders to introduce this ground breaking legislation and thanks Gov. Susana Martinez for messaging HB 275 "Require Medical Care for All Infants" and thanks to the bill sponsors Rep. Rod Montoya (R- Farmington) and Rep. Yvette Herrell (R-Alamogordo). This bill will ensure infants who survive abortion attempts on their lives receive proper medical attention and are not left to die, or intentionally killed. The NMAFL-draft legislation provides oversight to ensure the federal Infant Born Alive Protection Act is adhered to but also ensures infants who survive abortions in New Mexico are provided proper medical care. It is well documented that during abortion procedures, in particular late-term abortions infants are born alive and may survive--which spurred the passage of the Federal Infant Born Alive Protection Act in 2002, that grants these babies all the rights of a U.S. citizen under the law.
As a part of New Mexico Alliance for Life's ongoing investigative research, we have uncovered an infants born alive policy at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. HB 275 is the direct result of our findings and recommendations in working with the Governor's office and other state leaders to address this alarming issue, which currently has gone unchecked.
NMAFL has uncovered the University of New Mexico's OB-GYN Dept. Director and UNM late- term abortion clinic director, Eve Espey outlines how infants show signs of life after late-term abortions but does not indicate how they are cared for. What is truly alarming is the policy uncovered by NMAFL does not indicate how these babies are being cared for inside the abortion clinic or UNM Hospital--alive, crying, frightened and fighting for their lives. "The question is not a matter of "if" this is happening but when it does, what provisions are being provided to these babies born alive in abortion clinics across New Mexico?" said Elisa Martinez, executive director of NMAFL. As exposed by NMAFL, Espey also set up the invalid contract with late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd which resulted in the disbanding of UNM resident training at his clinic.
This bill will provide the necessary oversight to prevent another Kermit Gosnell, late-term abortionist convicted of three counts of murder who delivered babies who were still moving, whimpering or breathing, that he and his assistants "snipped" the newborns' spines with scissors. Or late-term abortionist Douglas Karpen, whose former assistants accused him of killing "three to four born-alive babies a day by cutting their spinal cord, forcing instruments into the soft spots of their heads or even twisting their heads of their necks."

"This legislation supplements the federal Infant Born Alive Protection Act and ensures these babies receive the same proper care as any newborn. Due to the lack of any current regulation of the abortion industry in New Mexico there is no indication whether or not the existing law is being enforced since there is no accountability. How can we expect any industry, like the abortion industry, to self-report against their own perceived self-interest?" |
"There is no reason for anyone to not support HB 275, a long overdue, common-sense protection for infants. The same late-term abortion procedures that can result in live births, employed by convicted late-term abortionist Gosnell, and Karpen are used by abortionists in New Mexico, including UNM's Dr. Eve Espey and Curtis Boyd. Yet we have no way of knowing what care is given to these babies born alive, but we suspect not many leave New Mexico abortion clinics alive." |
CDC Statistics On Babies Born Alive After Failed Abortions
In 2011, the CDC recorded 1,298 cases of infant death in the U.S. due to "Other perinatal conditions," which includes ICD-10 category P96.4, death subsequent to a failed "termination of pregnancy." Numbers have not been released for the particular category. Currently there is no "reliable voluntary reporting of live birth" after abortion. Dr. Willard Cates, an expert on medical statistics who is chief of abortion surveillance for the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, estimates that 400 to 500 abortion live births occur every year in the United States. Dr. Cates added, "No one is so naive as to think there is reliable voluntary reporting of live births in the present climate." In other words, the number of babies born alive after abortions is actually much higher.

About HB 275
HB 275 provides oversight measures and a special task force that will report to the legislature and Governor every year to monitor abortion clinics to ensure they are providing care to children that are born alive after a failed abortion attempt. This includes medical care and nourishment for the victims who show signs of life after an abortion attempt and where their death is not imminent.
Senate Plans to Introduce Late-Term Abortion Ban
Will Sen. Majority Leader Michael Sanchez Give the Bill a Fair Hearing or Side with His Abortion Industry Friends?
The fate of the bill lies with the Senate Majority Leader....
New Mexico Alliance for Life is working with state leaders to introduce a ban on late-term abortion in the New Mexico State Legislature. A late-term abortion ban is supported by Gov. Susana Martinez, the New Mexico Catholic Bishops and a majority of bipartisan state Legislators in both the Senate and House of Representatives.
Last year the Late-Term Abortion Ban passed the state House but died in the Senate Public Affairs Committee. This common-sense legislation is supported by the vast majority of women, men and New Mexicans but will NM Senate Democrats led by Majority Leader Michael Sanchez stonewall the will of the public on this life and death issue? The only hurdle to pass this law is the Democrat-Controlled State Senate. If it gets a full vote in the Senate, the late-term abortion ban will pass the House and go to the Governor's desk for her signature.
Sen. Majority Leader Michael Sanchez (D-Belen) can assign bills to any committee he chooses including a committee of the whole senate where there are enough pro-life Democrats to vote for the ban to pass. Last year, he intentionally sent the late-term ban to the most anti-life committee in the state Senate, the Public Affairs Committee known as the "Kill Committee."

As reported by NMAFL, it was Eve Espey who initiated an invalid contract with Curtis Boyd to train UNM residents in 2nd trimester abortions. Also, NMAFL questions Boyd's practice of harvesting late-term baby body parts for UNM research.

New Mexico: Is It Any Surprise the Late-Term Abortion Ban Hearing Last Year Was a Sham Hearing?

All Five Senate Democrats pictured here took campaign cash from POWER PAC. The NM Senate Public Affairs Committee is stacked with pro-abortion extremists who not only voted down the late-term abortion ban in committee but also received campaign donations from the late-term abortion industry's POWER PAC. Committee Chair Jerry Ortiz y Pino,Senators Jacob Candelaria, Daniel Ivey-Soto, Bill O'Neill and Mimi Stewart received $500- $2,000 each from POWER PAC |
All five senate Democrats pictured here, received campaign cash from the late-term abortion industry's POWER PAC and voted against the late-term ban in committee.
Since the pro-abortion Senate Public Affairs Committee is incapable of having a fair hearing on the Late-Term Abortion Ban, the people of New Mexico demand a fair hearing in an unbiased committee or an up or down vote on the Senate floor. This life and death matter should be taken seriously. . .
If this bill does not pass the Senate...it will not go to the House and to Gov. Martinez for her signature. Sen. Michael Sanchez has the choice to side with abortionists who have funded his campaigns... or the people of New Mexico who want to see an end to out-of state abortionists traveling to NM to profit from abortions until the day of birth on healthy moms and babies.

UNM Harvests Baby Body Parts Within Minutes of Late- Term Abortions
Is UNM's Clinical Assistant Professor, Late-Term Abortionist Curtis Boyd Breaking Federal Law ?
New Mexico Alliance for Life has obtained details from a 2015 UNM research study describing... in their own words... how aborted baby liver and kidney "tissue" is harvested from "six fetuses," only 15 minutes after the babies are killed by UNM's Curtis Boyd abortionists:
"This leaves many alarming questions concerning how notorious late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd, still serves as a UNM "assistant professor,"abortionist and tissue collection facilitator. The total disregard for human life illustrated in this UNM Department of Pediatrics research study by Dr. Robin Ohls and team is both sickening and horrifying. Death row inmates are treated with greater respect and dignity than these innocent, unborn babies. Additionally, this study has no merit, but reveals a blood thirst for human bodies to experiment with rather than seeking any worthwhile therapeutic application." See more below.
Is UNM's Curtis Boyd Breaking the Law?
This study brings into serious question as to whether UNM's Curtis Boyd is changing abortion procedures for UNM to harvest baby livers and kidneys from "six fetuses" in this study. How is it possible for Boyd to provide six, intact "fetuses ranging 12 -22 weeks" for UNM's Dr. Ohls to harvest? Is Boyd performing illegal partial birth abortions in order to provide Dr. Ohls a selection of wholly, intact "six fetuses" to harvest? The procedure Boyd states he uses up to 20 weeks, involves dismemberment and removal of tissue from the uterus. So how is it possible for him to provide "six fetuses" if their bodies have been dismembered and mangled from the abortion procedure?
Federal law states that an abortionist is not allowed to change the procedure to collect tissue: "No alteration of the timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy was made solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue." Federal HHS regulations state: "The timing and method of abortion should not be influenced by the potential uses of fetal tissue for transplantation or medical research."
Furthermore, UNMHSC officals told the Albuquerque Journal they have "no documents to show how much fetal tissue is sent from Boyd's clinic to UNM researchers, nor how often." However, clearly this study documents exactly "six fetuses" in UNM's Dr. Ohls possession to conduct the study. This is a very serious matter and demonstrates blatant abuse of public trust and funds by UNM's failure to provide documents. Join NMAFL in bringing this information to light by contacting UNM leadership and NM state leaders today and demanding answers.

Leading Researcher Examines UNM's Dr. Ohls' Study: "Basic Science...No Near-Term nor Long-Term Application"
Leading researcher in stem cell, cloning and bioethics, Dr. David Prentcie, who has testified as an expert before British Parliament, European Parliament, Canadian Parliament and U.S. Congress reviewed this UNM study using fetal lung and kidney tissue harvested by UNM's Dr. Ohls:
"This is very basic science, an elementary fishing expedition to look at simple molecular changes and regulation of one particular gene. There is no near-term nor even long-term target for therapeutic application. The experimental design was simplistic and poorly controlled, such that the authors could only "speculate" regarding the implication of the results."

TIME TO SEND BOYD PACKING
1) Contact UNM Health Sciences Board and UNM Board of Regents and tell them to terminate any and all contracts with Curtis Boyd.
NMAFL has retained legal counsel to assist in our ongoing investigation. We have asked for information detailing storage, transportation and collection processes, regarding UNM's research studies and inventory of aborted baby body parts. Our public record requests have been met with incomplete and evasive responses from UNM officials.
2) Tell UNM to respond to NMAFL's pending open records requests by their own values of " integrity in all our interactions- transparent and honest with no hidden agenda."

UNM Collects Nearly-Fully Developed Aborted Infants from Albuquerque's Notorious Late-Term Clinic
1/5/2016
The New Mexico Alliance for Life has obtained a letter confirming that Curtis Boyd "facilitates" the collection of aborted baby body parts such as hearts, lungs, heads, livers, aortas, brain tissue, etc. from his late-term abortion clinic
to the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
to the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
Not only is this practice disturbing and problematic on many levels, it is also in CLEAR VIOLATION of UNM Health Sciences Center's own "Oversight of Human Tissue in Research" policy which explicitly states: "not to allow for the purchase, donation or sale of human tissue to or from any outside entity" and "Under no circumstance will processes that appear to gift or sell human tissue in actuality or perception be allowed."
When NMAFL requested biohazard compliance records in accord with UNM's
use of human tissue in research, we were told "No, no such documents exist." Additionally, flying in the face of reason and integrity, UNM's Health Sciences Center's own vice chancellor for research, Dr. Larson told the Albuquerque Journal they "have no documents to show how much fetal tissue is sent from Boyd's clinic to UNM researchers, nor how often."
"It is unfathomable that our flagship university cannot even adhere to basic scientific research principles or ethics," said Elisa Martinez, NMAFL executive director. "By failing to adequately document, track and store human body parts puts into question UNM's ability to even conduct research, if they have no idea "how much" or "how often" they receive human baby body parts from late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd."

New Mexican's also demand answers as to how late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd is being compensated for "facilitating" the sorting of aborted baby hearts, lungs, aortas, heads, brain tissue, etc. for UNM's basic science research studies.
This all stems from UNM's Dr. Eve Espey's relationship with Curtis Boyd who entered into an invalid contract to train students at Boyd's aboriton clinic yet, alarmingly unaware UNMH officials claim to the Journal, they "didn't know" whether fellows or residents performed late-term abortions there.
