Radical Abortion-Up-To-Birth Bill Moves to House Floor
HB 51 moves to a House Floor vote, tentatively Monday evening (tomorrow) between 4:30-6. You are invited to attend, contact legislators and share this important update with others! Public testimony is not allowed for floor votes, but we encourage you to make your presence known.
THIS COULD BE OUR LAST CHANCE TO STOP INFANTICIDE, AND WE NEED YOUR HELP
Last Friday, 250+ New Mexicans showed up testify in opposition to the bill, but the majority were sadly turned away and not allowed to speak by Chairwoman Gail Chasey and House Speaker Brian Egolf. The opposition to HB 51 outnumbered those in favor 3-1, which also reflects the NMAFL survey that proves WE ARE THE MAJORITY!
The bill passed on a party-line vote 10-4.
A survey of over 800 New Mexican voters indicates that 70% oppose abortion after 5 months, 67% want parental involvement in a minor's abortion, and oppose forcing doctors, nurses and hospitals to participate in abortion. HB 51 allows for all of these practices and more.
THESE LEGISLATORS ESPECIALLY NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU BY TOMORROW:

Despite verbal assurances from pro-abortion up-to-birth bill sponsors Joanne Ferrary and Deborah Armstrong,HB 51 removes conscience protections for health care professionals, without any definitive state or federal protections--would force doctors, nurses and hospitals to perform or refer for abortions. NMAFL was the first to expose this radical intent by abortion-up-birthgroups like the ACLU NM, Young Women United and others who are "proud to be in the fight to end religious refusals of care and services..."
As the bill is expected to be heard on the House floor TOMORROW beginning at approximately 4:30-6:00 pm. You are invited to make the pro-life presence known throughout the capitol, lobby members of the House to VOTE NO on this out-of-touch radical bill.
Because this issue is SO IMPORTANT, we need to show our senators how much human life means to our families, our cultures, and our beautiful state.
