Last week, with the help of New Mexico's Democrat U.S. Reps. Deb Haaland, Xochitl Torres Small, and Ben Ray Lujan, Nancy Pelosi was able to block the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act for the 80th time, which provides basic care to newborn infants born alive during a failed abortion.
In fact, we contacted the offices of these congress members to support the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Sadly, Congresswoman Deb Haaland's response is shockingly uninformed and dismissive for such a serious life and death matter:
"I support a woman’s right to make her own healthcare choices without interference from politicians." -- Congresswoman Deb Haaland.
The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act has nothing to do with abortion. The Act ends the heartless, and absolutely horrifying manner newborn babies who survive abortions are simply left to die in agony--or worse, inside abortion clinics like Albuquerque’s Southwestern Women’s Options and UNM Hospital.
This is why New Mexico Alliance for Life has been leading the charge to expose the extremism of the abortion industry in New Mexico:
In 2016, We first exposed policies at the University of New Mexico Hospital that indicate infants are clearly born alive during late-term abortions.
We drafted groundbreaking legislation to address this concern, introduced in the NM Legislature for three consecutive years-- only to be defeated by pro-abortion extremists in the state. We also sent a letter outlining these policies to the U.S. Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, providing them with critical information on the infanticide happening in New Mexico.
Lastly, we have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT regarding our investigative work in this area. Tonight is a critical NMAFL fundraising deadline, to fund our life-saving research into the infanticide occurring RIGHT HERE, where late-term abortions are committed each and every week. But we cannot do this work without your financial support.
