Wednesday, the House Select Panel on Infant Lives voted to recommend the fetal tissue procurement CEO of StemExpress, Cate Dyer, in contempt of Congress for stonewalling its investigation into the harvesting and sale of aborted babies' body parts, by withholding subpoenaed documents.  Sound familiar?  
 
StemExpress also refused to produce names of individuals under investigation, citing "safety" concerns, despite assurances the Panel would redact names.   Sound familiar?  UNM Health Sciences officials have acted in the same manner. NMAFL is the first to report to you that UNM HSC is using your hard earned tax dollars to pay a high dollar, international law firm in obstructing the Panel's investigation-- the same group of attorneys that have represented StemExpress.

House Democrats on the Panel, who collectively receive tens of thousands of campaign dollars from the abortion industry, agressivley and shamelessly obstructed the meeting's business, leading up to a staged walkout by the Panel's 6 Democrats. The  remaining  members voted on the Contempt of Congress recommendation for Cate Dyer, which passed 8-0, on party line vote. 
 
Majority members stressed the importance of the law, and the Panel's investigation of StemExpress, UNM and others involve matters of the law.   
 
"A subpoena is not a suggestion," said Chairman Marsha Blackburn in a statement. "It is a lawful order and must be complied with."  NMAFL asks, when will UNM fully comply with the Panel's subpoenas? 
 
Unexpectedly, the Panel did not vote to release the deposition of UNM abortionist and OB-GYN department chair, Eve Espey.  However, NMAFL anticipates the content of Espey's testimony to be released in the near future. 
 
"Espey's testimony is crucial to unlocking alarming issues ongoing at UNM, including infants born alive during abortions, the expansion of abortion at UNM and possible violations of the law, "  said Michael Seibel NMAFL general counsel. "It is time for the Governor, Attorney General, legislators and UNM Regents to take action, investigate and prosecute any and all violations in these matters, as is there is probable cause to do so."

We've received notice that the Congressional Select Panel on  Infant  Lives is preparing to release content from a deposition of University of New Mexico Obstetrics & Gynecology Department Chair and abortionist, Dr. Eve Espey.  The Panel will vote on this matter today, along with holding Cate Dyer, the CEO of StemExpress, a fetal tissue procurement company for Planned Parenthood, in contempt of Congress for withholding information regarding profiting and possible trafficking of aborted infant body parts. 

The Select Panel's deposition of Espey,  took place in May of this year,  came as a result of New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMAFL) investigations into University of New Mexico (UNM) practices. 

"Dr. Espey, Dr. Paul Roth, and other senior UNM Health Sciences officials have long stonewalled the public, our investigations and even Congress on their unethical and possibly illegal practices," said NMAFL Executive Director Elisa Martinez. "We believe today's release will lay bare some of these activities, many of which have been subsidized by taxpayer dollars."  

Among other items, documents exclusively provided to the Panel by NMAFL: 

• Dr. Espey's invalid contract for UNM resident training at late-term abortion clinic, Southwestern Women's Options (SWWO), since disbanded after our investigation exposed in the Albuquerque Journal. 
• Dr. Espey's abortion expansion agenda at UNM. 
• Dr. Espey's faculty appointments of SWWO abortionists.
• Dr. Espey's policy for infants born alive during abortions at UNM.
• UNM contract with (SWWO) to harvest aborted infant body part

"New  Mexico  and federal taxpayers send millions of dollars to UNM Health Sciences Center every year," said Martinez. "Today's release of the deposition summary is the first step in forcing UNM Health Sciences Center to finally be transparent and accountable to the public."
