Abortion Up-To-Birth Group To Host Santa Fe “Happy Hour” with Congressional Candidate
October 18, 2019
Pro-abortion Democrat candidate for New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District, Teresa Leger Fernandez, who is endorsed by the abortion up-to-birth groups NARAL and EMILY’s List, is set to hold a “happy hour” for the founder of EMILY’s List, Ellen Malcolm this Monday in Santa Fe.
EMILY’s List endorses exclusively pro-abortion Democrat women running for office, and has already dumped $5,250 into Leger Fernandez’s campaign. Ms. Leger Fernandez is seeking to represent New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District, which comprises the northern part of the state, including traditional pro-life Hispanic and Native American populations in Rio Arriba, Taos, San Miguel, San Juan, McKinley, Cibola, and other counties. Thousands of citizens from these counties rallied with us against pro-abortion legislation, H.B. 51, and their Democrat Senators voted to kill the abortion bill.
Sadly, it’s well known that Santa Fe County, with its high cost of living and taxes, has driven out many local native New Mexicans, allowing wealthy out-of-state progressives to take over the political scene in the 3rd Congressional District’s most populous county.
This is illustrated by the fact that the perceived front runner, pro-abortion Valerie Plame, has outraised her Democrat opponents, including Leger Fernandez, whose base according to Albuquerque pollster Brian Sanderoff, “will be progressive Anglo transplants in Santa Fe.” Plame, a wealthy out-of-state liberal transplant worked with Planned Parenthood in the past.
The radical group has also endorsed U.S. Rep. Xochitl Torres Small in her re-election bid and donated $38,200 to her campaign, according to her latest Federal Election Commission report.
In announcing their support for Leger Fernandez, EMILY’s List wrote, “Teresa is running in a crowded primary to fill an open seat. After helping elect two pro-choice Democratic women to represent New Mexico’s 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts and one to lead the state as governor in 2018, EMILY’s List is excited to build on our success and support Teresa in this race.”
The pro-abortion happy hour will be held on Monday, October 21st from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at 220 Otero Street, Santa Fe, NM, 87501. According to the event’s Facebook page, the function has been marked “public.”
