Hypocrisy: House Democrats Vote for Parental Notification of School Absences, Not Abortion
House Speaker Egolf Tries to Silence Testimony Honoring Officer Holets
House Democrats Hypocrisy on Parental Notification
Today at noon, the New Mexico Legislature will adjourn "Sine Die," signaling the end of the 2018 Legislative Session. Sadly, pro-abortion Democrat legislators on the House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee voted for parental notification of school absences, but not abortion. Read more below on upcoming pro-life events.
Democrat Reps. Eliseo Alcon, Patricia Roybal Caballero and Deborah Armstrong, exposed their hypocrisy in a vote Saturday, in favor of HB 332, "Parental Notification Via Text," for students missing school. As we reported, these same legislators, voted to kill HB 56, the Parental Notification of Abortion Act in committee, requiring parents be notified before their daughter is taken for an abortion. "This goes to show that New Mexico's children are being exploited by the abortion industry and the abortion lobby," said Elisa Martinez NMAFL Exec. Director. "Representatives Alcon, Caballero and Armstrong are sending a chilling message to New Mexicans, that they don't care about children, they care more about protecting abortionists and the abortion lobby than our children. " As Rep. Bob Wooley, who voted for parental notification of abortion stated: remember these representatives when it comes election time. Planned Parenthood's "Champion" Tries to Shut Down Pro-Life Testimony in Honor of Officer Ryan Holets
Planned Parenthood celebrated House Speaker Brian Egolf as their "fierce advocate and champion" just last week. Planned Parenthood declared they honor him for "his hard work and dedication to Planned Parenthood."
Rep. Brian Egolf didn't disappoint the Planned Parenthood lobby when he tried to shut down pro-life testimony in honor of Officer Ryan Holets for "Angels On Earth" Day at the Legislature last week.
Apparently, even hearing testimony honoring angels on earth, like Holets, saving babies from becoming a "reproductive health choice"-- was too much for the Speaker and his pro-abortion allies to hear. Watch video below. Additionally, in a sweeping move to stifle citizen participation at the Legislature, after Angel's on Earth Day, Speaker Egolf banned guests like Officer Holets from being invited on the House Floor.
Testimony read by Rep. Rick Little on behalf of CareNet Pregnancy Center of Santa Fe Director, Roberta Cheek. Roberta worked with a young woman who was seeking a late-term abortion in Albuquerque. CareNet assisted the young woman and helped her bring baby Micah into the world, who was adopted by a loving family. Please share this important information with others!
NMAFL is proud to partner with pro-life organizations and leaders like Officer Holets, CareNet, Project Defending Life, the Aspen Project, Alongside Ministries and others who are helping women in unplanned pregnancies by providing better and informed choices, before AND after pregnancy. The pro-life community understands that women do not want to have to undergo an abortion, but they often believe they have no other choice. By empowering women with the resources and assistance they need during and after pregnancy, abortion no longer becomes an option, and two lives are spared from the pain of abortion.
