ABQ Mayor's Race: Where Candidates Stand, Pro-Life vs. Pro-Abortion Yesterday, the Albuquerque Journal released polling on the mayor's race with pro-life candidate Dan Lewis (13%) among the top three, along with pro-abortion extremists Tim Keller (25%) and Brian Colon (14%), with 32% undecided, (more from the Journal poll here). Since Albuquerque is the late-term abortion capital of the country, NMAFL asked candidates who identify as pro-life: What will you do to end the city's distinction as the late-term abortion capital of the nation? NMAFL has compiled important information for pro-life voters on the top 6 candidates prior to yesterday's poll, as there has been confusion circulating about where some candidates stand. We have published the responses of all candidates who took the time to fill out our 3-point questionnaire: Dan Lewis, Wayne Johnson and Ricardo Chaves. Political analysts have noted that the vote is being split among a wide field-- especially among pro-life candidates. If no single candidate reaches 50% of the vote on October 3rd, there will be a run-off between the top two candidates on November 3, 2017. At this juncture it is important for voters to consider who is the most electable pro-life candidate, or they may face a run off between two pro-abortion extremists: Brian Colon and Tim Keller. Historically, the ABQ mayoral elections have a very low voter turnout, so it's important for pro-life voters to work together and mobilize behind an electable candidate. Forward this important information to friends, family and organizations. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 is the general election for the Albuquerque mayor's race. Early voting has already begun and you can find a polling place near you here. Polls are open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday until September 29, 2017.
Pro-Abortion 'Catholics' Brian Colon and Tim Keller In 2013, then-state senator Tim Keller actually endorsed "Respect ABQ Women," a group pushing to keep abortion legal up to the day of birth in the Albuquerque city election. Tim Keller has also received endorsements from radicalized pro-abortion groups Planned Parenthood, Nasty Women New Mexico and endless favorable press from pro-abortion media like "ProgressNow NM." In fact, Keller was a featured guest presenter at ProgressNow's "Progressive Summit" earlier this year, where a who's who of pro-abortion groups convened to discuss "abortion access" in NM and other issues. At the same time, Koob was hired by SWLC to "ensure that full reproductive health services are still available in Santa Fe despite the Catholic hospital merger there imposing religious restrictions on access to contraception." Koob is well known in Santa Fe at the legislature as a seasoned, pro-abortion lobbyist who works for clients like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, SWLC and others. Colon has also taken thousands of campaign dollars from his long-time friend, Attorney General Hector Balderas. As NMAFL has reported, Balderas has protected the abortion industry over women by allowing over one hundred criminal complaints against Southwestern Women's Options late-term abortion business and UNM Health Sciences Center to expire.
